Who’s keen for Kenya?!

We’re so excited to share this year’s Kenyan offerings, which were selected during Fleur and Aislinn’s visit in February. Following 2023’s reforms to the country’s coffee trade, which significantly disrupted last year’s harvest, we were thrilled to regain access to lots from many of our favourite suppliers again, including the forward-thinking and quality-focused Kiama Farmers’ Cooperative Society (FCS).

We’ve been sourcing coffees from Kiama FCS since 2019, as they present everything we love about lots from Nyeri: bright, tropical acidity, impeccable structure and rich sweetness reminiscent of ripe stonefruit. Having spent time with the cooperative’s board of directors during our trip, we came away impressed with their meticulous processing practices and the amount of support offered to the farmers they work with. Read on for more on each available lot, and reach out if you’d like to taste them!

Kiangundo AB | Nyeri, Kenya

Servicing nearly 800 of Kiama FCS’ contributing members, Kiangundo is the cooperative’s largest site. With notes of Pink Lady apple, cherry and honeyblossom, balanced by sugarcane sweetness, this year’s AB lot shines thanks to its great structure and juicy acidity.

Kiamaina AA | Nyeri, Kenya

Originally established in 1974, Kiamaina services some 380 farmers who belong to Kiama FCS. This year’s AA lot is fruit-forward and refined, with Nashi pear, peach and mandarin, balanced by toffee sweetness.
