We’re always thrilled to add Colombian coffees to our offer list, as they excel across all brewing methods and showcase the tenacity and commitment to quality of the producers our supply partners Pergamino work with. Check out our offer list for more information — and reach out to request samples!
For our fourth Colombian shipment of the year, we’ve included two crowd favourites from Tolima: the vibrant and syrupy Small Producers of China Alta and a 100% Chiroso lot from forward-thinking producer Edward Sandoval. Visiting Edward’s farm Canta Ranas (pictured above) was a highlight of our most recent trip to Colombia, as we were deeply impressed by his progressive approach to farming, producing and drying coffee, which always results in incredibly complex and transparent lots.
The container also includes two exceptional lots from Huila, where Pergamino connect us to producers like Wilmer Moncayo in San Agustín and the ASOBOMBO cooperative in the well-known municipality of Pitalito. The enterprising co-op was born when founder Jhon Díaz (pictured below) banded friends and neighbours together to attain — as a group — better prices through the production of specialty coffee. While many ASOBOMBO members had already earned good premiums through local competitions, by working as an association and partnering with Pergamino, they’ve been able to fund the purchase of equipment and farming inputs that have helped them keep the quality of all member lots consistently high, raising the town’s profile in the eyes of international buyers.
We are excited about the phenomenal quality of our incoming selection of coffees — a true testament to the hard work of the producers we source from and Pergamino’s team on the ground. The lots are vibrant, juicy and intensely sweet, and represent excellent value and versatility in the cup. Get in touch if you’d like to taste the line up, or if you want to learn more about our sourcing practices in Colombia.
