It’s time to plan for Ethiopia and Kenya!

As this year’s coffee harvest picks up speed in Ethiopia and Kenya, we’re dusting off our boots and packing our bags to hit the road again!

In just a couple of weeks, Fleur and Aislinn are traveling to East Africa to spend time with our supply partners and select offerings from the 2024/2025 harvest, which will land around the mid-year. To avoid delays, we plan to confirm and finalise our order during the trip, so it’s important to share your buying intentions ahead of time!

The trip will start off in Ethopia, where Aislinn will spend a few days with our good friends at Testi Specialty Coffee, cupping this year’s crop in Addis Ababa. Fleur will join her in Nairobi the following week and the pair will travel through Kenya’s central growing region, strengthening existing partnerships and  establishing new supply networks, following last year’s industry reforms. We’re thrilled to be spending this time traveling with longtime friend to MCM, Wycliffe Murwayi (pictured below with Kanyi Estate owner Mukami Mugo), who played a key role in helping us build last year’s container, and connects us to a number of farmers and producing groups whose coffees we have previously featured.

With ongoing challenges for shipping operations in the Red Sea region, and the recent volatility in local and global coffee pricing, we are determined to move swiftly and efficiently with this year’s orders. To ensure you don’t miss out on your favourite lots, now is the perfect time to let us know what you are interested in for your Ethiopian and Kenyan line up. Whether you would like to feature a lot from a particular site that you have loved in the past, or to brief us in on your preferred flavour profile, regional characteristics or intended volumes – communicating your requirements ahead of purchasing helps us to accurately gauge demand for the year and is the best way to secure the coffees you love!
