El Diamante ‘La Locura’ | Cajamarca, Tolima

Since we first met him in 2022, Neftalí Castro has quickly become one of our favourite producing partners, for his progressive and explorative approach to growing and processing coffee! For this shipment, we’ve selected a lot from the most treasured corner of his property: a plot he calls ‘La Locura,’ (which translates to ‘the madness’ in Spanish) where the farm’s many varieties are grown together under heavy shade, in a dense coffee forest. Distinct and fruit-forward, this mixed variety lot has notes of red apple and raspberry cordial. We think this lot suits filter brewing perfectly and will also make for an elegant and rich single espresso offering.

La Cumbre Pink Bourbon | Oporapa, Huila

Pink Bourbon lots from Huila tend to be some of the most floral and elegant coffees grown in Colombia—after all, it’s here where the variety was first discovered. For producer Andrés Peña, planting Pink Bourbon at his farm, El Cumbre, was a hefty but worthwhile investment. The variety now earns him high premiums from specialty buyers, thanks to its exceptional cup profile and character. With sparkling lemon lime acidity and notes of yellow nectarine, golden kiwi and sugarcane, this standout lot is best presented through manual filter methods.

Small Producers of Aponte Honey | Aponte, Nariño

This unique honey-processed lot from the misty peaks of Nariño is a perennial crowd favourite, with a distinctly fruit-forward profile. After cupping the latest arrival, our team identified some mild piney character in the cup, indicating slight age. While the coffee still presents sweet and vibrant notes of apricot, peach and honey blossom, we have decided to discount it to encourage early usage and move the stock quickly, offering outstanding value for this exceptionally processed microlot. This coffee will excel as a robust filter, single origin espresso or bring complexity to a blend.
