Get Excited for Colombia!

Our latest fresh crop coffees from Colombia are on their way to Australia! The incoming line up includes four versatile and distinct small producer lots from the remote regions of China Alta and Cajamarca in Tolima; Belén in Cauca; and Buesaco in Nariño, which we have just added to our list.

We’re always thrilled to add Colombian offerings to our offer list, and with the container arriving in August, there isn’t long to wait until they’re hitting your coffee menu. Check out our offer list for more information — and reach out to request samples!

For this shipment, we’ve worked with our long-time supply partner and friends, Pergamino. In Tolima, they connect us to producing communities in the towns of China Alta and Cajamarca — regions that are known for being two of Colombia’s agricultural hubs. When we visited Tolima last year, we were blown away by how incredibly lush and fertile every inch of the department appeared to be, and we love the clarity and balance of the coffees produced here.

In Cauca, thanks to Pergamino’s work, we have access to lots from smallholders who have been producing exceptional coffee for decades. This container includes one such offering, grown and processed in the small town of Belén. Here, farmers benefit from nutrient-heavy, volcanic soils and abundant freshwater (thanks to the local Rio Negro) to produce coffees that are syrupy and rich, with great intensity of flavour.

The container also includes one lot from a producing community in Buesaco, one of Nariño’s (and Colombia’s!) best-regarded coffee-growing regions. In recent years, the success that many producers from Buesaco have found though Colombia’s Cup of Excellence competition has inspired many more to adopt improved farming and processing practices, elevating the town’s name as a whole and resulting in coffees with exceptional clarity and longevity in the cup.

We are excited about the high quality and versatility of our selection — a true testament of the hard work of the producers whose coffees we source and Pergamino’s team on the ground. The lots are vibrant, juicy and intensely sweet, and represent excellent value and versatility in the cup. Get in touch if you’d like to taste the line up, or if you want to learn more about our sourcing practices in Colombia.
