Over the last few of weeks, we have added several fresh offerings to the line up, including a stunning suite of Rwandan arrivals, an exquisite selection out of Ethiopia and three versatile Brazilian lots selected during our visit to Fazenda Progresso in August. Along with our in stock Colombian and Guatemalan coffees, this is one of our strongest offer lists yet!

Read on for our current favourites to suit your espresso menu, thanks to their syrupy sweetness, great structure and creamy body…

Borralha | Serra do Cabral, Brazil
EcoAgricola is an impeccably-run coffee farm found in Brazil’s Serra do Cabral plateau. The estate uses a combination of the latest farming technology and environmentally sustainable practices to produce coffees that are distinct and represent excellent value. Borralha is a naturally-processed lot with notes of dates, black cherry and toasted almond that are balanced by jammy sweetness, making it an ideal backbone for a blend.

Calahute | Huehuetenango, Guatemala
Grown in the steep hills of Huehuetenango, this coffee is creamy and high in sweetness, with notes of milk chocolate and stewed apple. Calahute is a reliable workhorse that provides a rich texture to an espresso blend. It presents sweet caramel and almond when paired with milk.

Fazenda Progresso | Chapada Diamantina, Brazil | Pulped Natural | Natural
We’re so excited to have coffees grown and processed by the Borré family back on our line up! We’ve been working with Fazenda Progresso since 2015 for good reason: their forward-thinking approach to coffee production results in some of the tastiest coffees out of Brazil. Their two estate lines are perfect for those looking to update an espresso blend, or to showcase how flavourful Brazilian coffee can be, as they are rich and sweet, with notes of red fruits and citrus that pair well with milk.

Ruli | Northern Province, Rwanda
Located in Rwanda’s Northern Province, Ruli Washing Station will always be a special place for MCM, as the first Rwandan coffee we ever sourced was processed here back in 2008! The latest season’s lot is a stunner – with blackcurrant, marmalade, pecan praline and lingering orange blossom florals in the cup. This syrupy  coffee has great intensity and sweetness that provide a beautiful structure when brewed as a single espresso.

Worka Chelchele | Gedeo, Ethiopia
Grown in the Ethiopian highlands of Gedeo, Worka Chelchele is perfect introduction for anyone looking for a winey, naturally-processed coffee with loads of fruit upfront, that is refined and transparent. With condensed milk sweetness, bright stonefruit acidity and notes of grape and amaretto, this delightful coffee works a treat on its own and over ice.
