The arrival of our Bolivian shipment is always an exciting time at MCM! With a unique coffee producing history, dramatic landscapes and dedicated producing communities, this beautiful country is home to some of the most complex and distinct coffees we source. We love sharing stories from Bolivia and celebrating the inspiring work of our producing partners Agricafe Bolivia, and the community of farmers they connect us to.
Our latest container from Bolivia generated heaps of interest and excitement, selling out almost completely ahead of its arrival. We have one final offering available, an outstanding coco natural Gesha lot from Finca Las Alasitas that has been processed following the Rodríguez family’s meticulous practices. Las Alasitas Gesha Coco Natural | Caranavi
Established in the lush, mountainous region of Caranavi, Las Alasitas is the Rodríguez family’s most well-known farm. The scenery here is so special that the family have built a house at the top of the farm called La Casita, where they welcome friends and guests who come to enjoy the stunning sunset and sunrise views amidst their beautiful Gesha trees.
Las Alasitas’ high elevation, unique microclimate and distinct soil profile has made it the ideal place for Agricafe to establish their nursery, planted with over 50 different coffee varieties. Through years of research and careful farming, the Rodríguez family have found Panama Gesha to be an excellent performer in Las Alasitas’ unique conditions, producing an incredibly floral and complex cup profile. When processed as a coco natural, the variety presents intense sweetness and a distinct creamy body — it’s simply stunning! This super limited release is distinct and elegant, with great clarity, and amaretto and yellow peach in the cup. If you’re looking to add a showstopper to your coffee menu, this lot is for you!
