It’s time to plan for Rwanda!

Next month, Fleur and Jo are heading back to Rwanda. While in the country, the pair will spend time with our dear friends at Dukunde Kawa and Maraba Cooperatives, cupping and selecting coffees from the current harvest, which will land in Australia later this year.

Before we head off, we want to hear from you to help us build our buying brief and accurately plan for the 2026/27 season!

Our annual trip to Rwanda is always a highlight of the year, thanks to the warmth and generosity of our supply partners and their innovative and forward-thinking approach to coffee production — truly, their offerings get better and better each time we visit.

While in the country, Fleur and Jo will cup and select this season’s offerings with our long-time exporting partner RWASHOSCCO, who connects us to the Dukunde Kawa and Maraba Cooperatives. After last year’s bountiful crop, we’re eager to taste through the season — we’ll be looking for clean washed lots, with a refined acidity, rich sweetness and complex florals, along with limited volumes of well-processed and transparent honeys and naturals.

What we’re most looking forward to during the trip is spending time on the road with our producing partners. We can’t wait to see our friends at Dukunde Kawa in the Northern Province, to tour their impressive processing sites and to dance with the women of Rambagirakawa. When visiting the Southern Province, we’re excited to continue strengthening our relationship with Maraba Cooperative, and to learn more about their ongoing youth and women-driven projects.

We’re looking forward to a busy, fun-filled and educational trip, with loads of great coffees to taste. Whether you would like to feature a particular offering you have loved in the past, or to brief us in on your preferred flavour profile, regional characteristics or intended volumes, our team is on hand to discuss your needs.
